For the first time this year I was actually able to land a job when I returned from working in Alaska. This is a good thing of course but working full time has it's disadvantages, namely I don't have as much free time to devote to the blog and it's driving me crazy. Unfortunately, pursuant to this I think I'm going to have to drop down to 3-4 articles a week that I can write in my free time on one of my days off. Days off, what a misnomer that is, it's not really a day of rest, just a day of chores and errands you can't get done on the days you're working because you're scheduled for a mid shift, the bane of retail. I'm not complaining though, the job is good, if not hectic, and I'll be eligible for benefits after 90 days.
So where am I working you may ask? The Fresh Market as a Produce Clerk. I've learned much more than I thought I knew about produce since I started working and as an added benefit, employees are encouraged to sample the products we sell so that we are better able to describe the taste to customers. The Fresh Market is all about customer service, and we strive to go above an beyond in that respect. Also, since we are a specialty store, we carry much more in the way of Organic Produce than other grocers carry. It's all at reasonable prices, and since I have been able to expand my horizons with trying organic, I am fully sold on it.
The A&P of the 1940's ad above used to sell real food, before Monsanto, before the dark days of GMO frankenfood. At least at The Fresh Market I can still get real food, organic food, and not pay an arm and a leg for it.
